June 14 Find the "fuego"

As Hong Kong disappeared into a memory on my plane ride to Singapore, I was tired and enjoying my upgrade from coach to business class.

I met another man who was tired but still Awake. I told him about the Awake film and he said that in his work there were some people who had the fuego. He said that you either have it or you don't. Our lengthy conversation on the plane lit the fire in my spirit.

It is interesting because this same man is working at marketing a new fuel to China. It is simply called, bio-fuel. Brazil over the past ten years is completely functioning one bio-fuel of ethanol but our conversation gave me some hope for the increasing prices of oil which will only go up in the future. His fuego and fuel did get my mind moving.

I asked him what question he would ask to people around the world. He would first ask people about their names and the meaning behind it. This is one way of opening people up to talk about something seeming simple but very complicated.

As I flew from Hong Kong to Singapore, I felt energized and thankful for our wonderful time in Hong Kong with some many kind and giving people who opened their lives to Awake film.

After our hectic week, I prepared to head off for Singapore. We had shot 10 hours of interviews in the can. I worked to get everything prepared for my solo trip to Singapore and then an overland across Malayasia to Bangkok.

I arrived at my hotel in Singapore after midnight and fell asleep soon after!
