June 13 A Toy designer, Buddhist Compassion Magazine, and the art of Paul Lung
06-25-06 | 01:29

Our last day filming in Hong Kong was already filled. We were going to be shooting stock footage on this day but the interviews had spilled over onto this day as well.

All the interviews were well worth it.

Joyce Lauw, a toy designer, was our first interview of the day. We headed back towards HKU from the day before. There was a small museum which Joyce suggested as a good location to shoot at.

After a few minutes of guerilla filming, we promptly were booted out. The interview moved outside the museum which was possibly a better location anyways.

Joyce is a playful and creative designer who loved to take shots with her cell phone. She also carried a polariod camera as well. After Joyce's interview, all of us Joyce, Jeff, Stephanie, and myself headed to Buddhist Compassion Magazine.

Buddhist Compassion Magazine is a magazine which has a similar mission to Awake film. The magazine highlights different people in the world who are using compassion to connect the world.

The magazine wanted to write an article about Awake and we wanted as well to interview the editor of the magazine. Most of the Magazine's staff had recently left mainland China for the week so we interviewed with Elaine Chan. Stephanie did the simultaneous translation for the interview. Elaine was an kind and giving person who took on the Awake question in her own way.

After the interview, we would meet up with Paul Lung. We had interviewed Paul two days before but we wanted to spend some more time to see his studio and art. We ate a famous vegetarian restaurant than went to Paul's studio.

At the studio, there was an impromptu photo shoot after looking at all of Paul's amazing art work. Check out the pictures.

What a wonderful day....Thank you Joyce, Paul, and Stephanie for such a great day.
