May 23rd, The day after one of the best days in Korea!
05-23-06 | 04:23
So I have to preface this blog by saying it will be long as there was 10 interviews yesterday. So if you don't like to read just look at the links and pictures!
I will start with Peter Daily our Aussie contact that put us in touch with everyone! Peter is a teacher at Keimyung University and has written an article on a really destructive cult in Korea. He was really interesting to talk to because of his experience in Korea and the connection with this cult. I will post his links and article for you to discover. Thanks Peter for putting us in contact with everyone else as well as yourself!
Elle and her family: You guys are the smartest, cutest family! I loved getting to interview three generations of a Korean family all in one day. Elle your question to your mother and grandparents of "what they would like to see with your future" was endearing to me. You care so much about your family and that is so very obvious! I can relate! They also love you so dearly and seem to want you to have the best life you can. You are so blessed!!! Thank you and your family for all the participation with AWAKE, it meant the world to me!!
Peter Edwards is many things at Keimyung University and even more things in his personal life. He is an Assistant Professor, Department of English Director, and runs the International Lounge. I will post the link up about the International Lounge! It is such a cool place for the students to use, learn, and speak in different languages. Really smart man, and really great idea! But, when we interviewed Peter that is when the ball dropped. He has had quite an amazing life and could have his own documentary entirely. Thanks Peter for sharing with us and the clips should be up before we depart Korea! You have to watch his clips!!!!
Rev. Park was right on time for her interview, but as usual we were running a little late, trying to grab something to eat!!! Rev. Park gave a very concise interview and also has a very interesting and amazing past. She is the female Chaplin on campus and that is not an easy thing to do! She was a delight to interview! Watch her clips to find out about her past.
Last, but certainly not least. It's funny because So-Yeon and Soo-Hyun were two of our last interviews and they had to wait for a very long time. But, and I think I can speak for both of them, It was so worth it. These girls, although very different, were so artistic and articulate. I had such a great time with both of you and learned so much about your experiences being Korean in 2006. I felt a great kinship with the both of you and I really appreciate your time and the things you had to say. You have to watch their clips!!!!!!
I think this blog is probably killing the readers and also not doing justice to all these amazing people! The day was so packed full of beautiful moments, I can't possible get them all out to you, but it is like I say with name of this blog! You must watch the clips from this day in Deagu!!!!
Love,
Jeff
I will post links and clips here and on my next blog!
